Donations, godparenthoods and memberships

You are thinking about supporting our organsations? If you decide to do so, you have the following opportunities:

1. Godparenthood of an orphan child

With a godparenthood for a tsunami orphan you undertake a long-lasting commitment for the orphan until he or she finishes his or her educational training. However you can cancel your godparenthood three months before the end of the current year. In this case the organisation is caring about the further support of the child and is looking for new godparents. So the child will be supported further on. The costs for a godparenthood are 25,- Euro per month.

The organisation is managing the money transfer to our partner organisation "Orphan Education Foundation" in Thailand. This foundation will then give the money to the orhan child or the family in which he or she is living. None of the orphans, we are caring for is living in an orphanage. They all are living in new families or together with their relatives. The status of the children is continuously controlled and documented by the partner organisation in Thailand, especially by Chaiwat (Sam) Toomchangreed.

The godparents have the opportunity to contact the children by email or through the headmasters of the Bang Niang and Pak Weep Primary School (please write in English or Thai). If you would like to visit the orphans in Thailand, please contact Chaiwat (Sam) Toomchangreed, the manager of our partner organisation in Thailand in advance.

2. Sponsoring / Donations

The money we are receiving from the donations and sponsoring will be deposited in an education fund for the orphans.

Out of this fund the transportation of the students to the Pak Weep and Bang Niang Primary School will be paid for the next two years.
The luncheon for the 220 children of the abovementioned schools will be paid as well out of this fund. The period of support is also limited to two years.
The orphans we are caring for should get the opportunity to visit a secondary school up to university level. The headmasters of the two schools are responsible for the appraisal who should visit a secondary school. If possible the costs for this further education could be paid out of the education fund.
Maybe we can pay for needed school materials as well.
If we could raise enough funds we could also think of supporting the building of a school in the hometown of Chaiwat (Sam) Toomchangreed.

3. Membership in the organization

Like in other organisations, the membership in the organisation is the essential element. Only through shared ideas, personal dedication to the project and concentrated work we can be successful in the end.
The annual costs for a membership are deliberately stated very low (they are 24,- Euro per year) to make it more easy for interested people to join our organsation. An annual amount of 24,- Euro is enough to pay the living of one child for one month.
The annual subscriptions are forseen as a financial basis for all the activities of the organisation - especially if there are any unpredictable shortages due to godparenthoods which are cancelled or sponsors who are leaving, for example.
